With the help of community partners, Virginia Cooperative Extension has been able to publish an annual directory to the local food and farms of the Shenandoah Valley since 2008. The goal of the Shenandoah Valley Buy Fresh Buy Local Guide is to promote local food and farms, give greater visibility to Valley agriculture and help individuals, families, institutions and businesses in the Shenandoah Valley area to find more locally grown food and farms.
The guide is your year round source for local producers, farm to table restaurants, grocers, community supported agriculture (CSAs) operations, orchards, farmers markets, and farmstands.
Residents of the Shenandoah Valley can find printed copies of the latest Shenandoah Valley Buy Fresh Buy Local guide at area retailers that sell local food, your Virginia Cooperative Extension office, travel and tourism offices, farmers markets and farmstands. If you would like several copies of the guide to distribute at your business or event, please contact us!
