With spring just around the corner, a lot is happening here at Shenandoah Valley Buy Fresh Buy Local! We’re gearing up for the start of warmer temperatures with our 2015 edition of the Buy Fresh Buy Local guide, complete with refreshing success stories, new partners in the community, and the local food listings that you love. The guide will be out soon! Keep an eye out at your favorite local food spot.
We are also excited to announce the start of a new event through Virginia Cooperative Extension and Shenandoah Valley Buy Fresh Buy Local, in partnership with farms and businesses throughout the Valley. Farm School is an exciting new option for adults in professional food service, food enthusiasts, and really anyone who eats! We want you to know about the phenomenal work that our local farmers are doing every day to provide for their community and beyond. Join us on the first Friday of the month – between May and September – for Farm School. Each month will feature a different agriculture topic and location within the Shenandoah Valley. Each stand-alone workshop will run approximately 3 hours in length and include a mid-day meal.
Whether you connect to Shenandoah Valley Buy Fresh Buy Local through the food guide or Farm School, we invite you to not be a stranger! Check back here at our website often, or follow on Facebook or Twitter.
