This year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday November 23, 2017. Haven’t claimed your Thanksgiving bird quite yet? Consider taking one home from a local farm in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley! Below are a few farms that we know are offering Thanksgiving turkeys this season.
Shenandoah County – Strasburg, VA
PASTURED TURKEY $5/lb: Eagle Crest’s turkeys are raised just like their chickens- with lots of fresh grass and sunshine. They are available fresh (not frozen) the week of Thanksgiving, but can be claimed earlier. They usually sell out, so be sure to reserve yours early! Eagle Crest Farm offers three weight ranging from: 10-14lb, 15-19lb, and 20+lbs.
Shenandoah County – Edinburg, VA 22824
This year, J & L Green Farm will offer Turkeys from Polyface Farm. They are broad breasted, white turkeys that are raised on pasture and fed GMO free grains. They’ll take orders until sold out!
Frederick County – Winchester, VA 22602
Bethlehem Farm offers broad breasted, white turkeys. The turkeys are fed an organic, soy-free diet. They are processed on the farm, the Monday prior to Thanksgiving so they’ll be fresh-—not frozen.
Frederick County – Middletown, VA 22645
Richard’s Fruit Market still has a few turkeys available for sale just in time for Thanksgiving! Give them a call at 540-869-1455. They will take orders until sold out. Farm fresh turkey burgers will be available at the market off of Middle Road if not all remaining turkeys are sold by Thanksgiving.

Clarke County – Stephenson, VA 22656
Life More Abundant Ranch pasture raises broad breasted, white turkeys that are given a locally grown, locally milled, Non-GMO ration. They are harvested on the farm, humanely, by hand. They have broad breasted whites available with an expected dressed weight of 12-18+ pounds for $5.50 per pound. They also have slower growing heritage bred turkeys available with an expected dressed weight of 6-14 pounds for $5.75 per pound. A phone call or text is best. They’ll take orders until sold out!
